How Goes The Journey?

Sometimes I like to think about this life here on earth as a journey. We are brought into this world as part of someone else’s journey and begin our own adventure at the same time. I was fortunate enough, by divine design, to start my trek with godly parents who pointed me in the direction of a relationship with my Creator, who not only made me, but chose to walk with me on this earthly path.
Along the way, we meet many people, have many experiences that are designed to grow us up into our purpose and destiny. Our final destiny, for the believer, has been secured by the work of Christ on the cross, but our somewhat unpredictable journey has many of us wondering, “why this way?” The obstacles along the way seem at times unreasonable or insurmountable. Whether it be tragedy, sickness, financial difficulties, broken relationships, suffering, loss or many other things, we want to understand why. We tend to focus a lot on the negatives and forget the One who is walking along side us the whole time. The whys need to be left up to Him.
2 Timothy 1: 12b says, “I know whom I have believed and am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.” One day we will have our questions answered. One day we will know all the whys but until then we can continue this amazing journey with confidence and purpose. I have entrusted all the whys to Him. I know that He loves you and me and His view of this earthly adventure is quite different than mine. So, I am grateful for each experience, each relationship, and every opportunity that comes my way. The journey is not in vain or without purpose knowing that His love and grace prevail.
Proverb 16: 9 says, “In their hearts humans plan their course but the Lord establishes their steps.” The walk of faith is one of connection to the Creator of all things. Including the pathway in front of you. Don’t do it alone and embrace those who journey alongside you. So, how goes your journey?
